The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is the main prosecuting authority in England and Wales. It works in partnership with all agencies in the criminal justice system. Although independent of the police, they work especially closely with them.
It is vital that their services are accessible to everyone, so we were delighted when Ketan Davé – Inclusion & Community Engagement Manager, asked Dot to provide a training session for the CPS East of England in Chelmsford. Recognising the importance of the training, team members travelled there today from all over the area including Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
Kathleen taught Deaf Awareness and BSL phrases to enable staff to meet and greet Deaf BSL users, as well as fingerspelling and specialist vocabulary related to their job roles.
Feedback was that they found the session very enjoyable and that it is importance to be Deaf -aware and know BSL for life skills not only their job roles.
Please contact us if you would like to arrange similar training at your place of work.
