BFI – British Film Institute, to learn British Sign Language

The British Film Institute is a film and charitable organisation which promotes and preserves filmmaking and television in the United Kingdom, and encourage access to and appreciation of a wide range of film.

We at Dot Sign Language were delighted when they asked us to teach a group of their staff BSL. They recognise the importance of being able to communicate with Deaf BSL users in their own language whether they be patrons or colleagues; as well as learning to use sign language for its own sake – as a beautiful, visual language.

As we are currently unable to travel to BFI Southbank, and their staff are working from home, the solution is to teach the course via Zoom. We are looking forward to commencing our first fully online course, starting next week.
