Local Council Staff Learn BSL

Hart District Council in Fleet proved they are committed to making services more accessible to Deaf BSL users by booking a full day of training for 25 members of staff including 2 councillors.

Dot created a bespoke training session incorporating the phrases they requested – How to greet someone, booking an appointment, directing to services on the website, checking forms of ID etc. We also included how to book and use BSL interpreters and Video Relay Services.

It was a full-on day for everyone and we had fabulous feedback -“Thanks to Kathleen, Paul and Debbie for delivering such an engaging course for us. I feel like I learnt so much during such a short space of time and I look forward to practising and improving.” Liz Glenn, Health & Policy Project Officer.
