The Lighthouse Specialist Centre for Deaf Children at Guildford Grove School are looking for a
FULL-TIME LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT [Deafness plus Physical Disability]
The Lighthouse works to support deaf children from age 3 to 11 in a mainstream school setting. Your work as a learning support assistant would be interesting, varied, sometimes challenging – but often rewarding.
All of the children placed with us use Sign Supported English or British Sign Language, so we are looking for someone with good signing skills (qualified to CACDP/Signature Level 2 or equivalent), who is able to interpret mainstream class lessons for the deaf children. You would also need good levels of skill in written and spoken English.
We welcome applications from candidates looking for full-time work, or part-time as a job share. To start as soon as possible, the position is fixed term in the first instance until July 2019.
