To all our students – The team at Dot Sign Language are doing everything we can to support your BSL studies. In addition to emailing you homework and videos of our teachers signing, we will be offering teaching through a video conferencing platform called Zoom.
Do not worry if you have not used anything like this before! Many people haven’t and we want to make it as straightforward as possible for you.
This is a simple step by step explaining how we will use Zoom.
Our plan is to begin with 15 minute 1:1 sessions for you, with allocated times (usually) within your normal class time. Later, as everyone becomes more familiar with video conferencing, we hope be able to teach you in small groups.
You will need a laptop / tablet / smartphone with a camera set up so you have both hands free to sign. (If using a smartphone you will need to download the Zoom App.)
We envisage the first session with each of you to be a ‘getting familiar with Zoom’ session, and a BSL chat, then later when you feel confident with the technology we can get back onto our regular curriculum.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and the kindness you are showing us.
