Goodbye Clair

Clair Buttery

Last week we waved goodbye to Communication Support Worker, Clair Buttery.

Clair was with Dot for three years and over that time helped us to increase our Deaf Awareness Training and British Sign language (BSL) teaching activities not only in the community but also further afield in business, the NHS and the commercial world.

It was Clair who often liaised on my behalf with organisations wanting Deaf Awareness and BSL training.

A career highlight for all of us was me teaching Cabinet Minister, Rt Hon Penny Mordaunt, to use BSL in the House of Commons for the first time. A historic moment. The story was covered by all the major news outlets including BBC, ITV, The Times and even Fox News.

Our goodbye gifts included a necklace (with her name spelt out in BSL).

We are sorry to see Clair go but I’m delighted to say that Marie will be joining us from September.

Clair will be working for a local school.

Please note that any emails for Clair should now be sent to: bsl@dotsignlanguage.co.uk

Good luck Clair, we will miss you.
