‘Going the Extra Mile’ – Dot BSL Homework Group

We are delighted that Jacque – one of our Level 3 students, is supporting Dot Sign Language by setting up a homework group. The group is called ‘Going the Extra Mile’ – named, like Dot Sign Language after renown BSL poet Dorothy ‘Dot’ Miles.

‘Going The Extra Mile’ is a student led homework group aimed at supporting students, especially Level 1, Level 2 and Pre-Level 3 by giving you a space between lessons where you can meet and discuss what you have learned so far in your course. Volunteers from Level 3 will be there to help you with your work and answer any questions you might have about your study. Students are encouraged to sign to each other and give each other feedback as you learn, and so build up your signing skills and confidence.

The group meets every 2 weeks in Guildford Wetherspoons, where people can drop in and stay as long as they wish.

Wetherspoons, The Rodboro Buildings, 1-10 Bridge St, Guildford GU1 4RY  (On the one way system.)
The next meet-up will be Sunday November 24th, 12 – 2pm.
