Dorothy Miles was pioneer of British Sign Language (BSL) poetry and a playwright. She compiled the first teaching manual for BSL tutors and helped establish the first university course for deaf people to become BSL tutors.
You may already know that Dot Sign Language evolved from The Dorothy Miles Cultural Centre which was established by a group of Deaf and hearing friends in her memory.
I was delighted to sign a video about her. The video has been added to the History Points website and when people scan a QR code outside her childhood home in Wales, the video will appear.
