Dot ‘Dives In’

LLoyds of London organised the Global ‘Dive In’ Festival for everyone in the insurance World to recognise the importance of Diversity and Inclusion.

Dot were invited to run a workshop on Deaf Awareness at the Chubb building in The City in which Kathleen and Paul discussed differing needs of deaf colleagues and customers, the legal rights of deaf people under The Equality Act 2010, and practical tips to make the workplace more accessible. They finished the session by teaching some BSL phrases.

The turnout was high including a Deaf participant and his BSL interpreter, reinforcing that accessibility is a very real matter and vitally important to be ensured every day.

We hope attendees have been inspired to learn more British Sign Language through further workplace training or a BSL Level 1 course. See  https://www.dotsignlanguage.co.uk/course/deaf-awareness-training  for information about bespoke Deaf Awareness and BSL workplace training

Thank you to Marc Reace-Coles at Lloyds for organising such a fabulous and smooth running event!
