Deaf Awareness Week

Next week – May 6th – 12th, is Deaf Awareness Week.

At Dot we will be focusing on our work in the community.

We have been invited to give assemblies at Beaufort School in Woking to talk with the children about being Deaf and to answer their questions.

We are guest speakers and on a panel of experts at an event in London, discussing how networking can be made accessible to Deaf people.

We will be presenting and talking to parents of Deaf children at an information day organised by CSSEF (Chloe and Sophie’s Special Ears Fund) and Fleet Rotary. We will post more information separately.

Deaf Awareness Week aims to promote the positive aspects of deafness, promote social inclusion and raise awareness of the huge range of local organisations that support deaf people and their family and friends. We are very happy to be involved in these local events.
