We were extremely keen to be part of Youth First’s workshop week.

Youth First is an organisation in Lewisham which is owned and run by its youth workers and young people. They help young people have fun, socialise, take risks, discover their own identities and acquire the life skills and self-confidence needed to lead happy and fulfilled adult lives.

A Deaf Awareness and British Sign Language session was a natural fit.

Lisa – a ‘Deaf Role Model’ who frequently teaches for Dot, ran a high-energy, information packed and interactive session. We were all delighted to receive feedback thanking Lisa. The young people thought she was great, loved the session and took away a lot from it.
