Due to the success of our current iBSL Level 6 course, Dot Sign Language Director and qualified teacher Kathleen Grehan is excited that it will run again from September 2018.
This qualification is equivalent to those for Modern Foreign Languages at Honours Degree level. It is the penultimate qualification required before a learner can take the Level 6 Interpreting qualifications required to become a registered British Sign Language interpreter.
Focusing on fluent BSL skills and knowledge of Deaf culture, you will learn to understand and present information, ideas, advice and opinions at an extended level in a range of work and social situations. You will also develop an understanding of the linguistic structure of the language.
The course is open to students who have successfully completed BSL Level 3 and above. Preference will be given to candidates with Level 4, but Level 3 students with strong BSL skills should also apply. This course is also suitable for Deaf BSL users wanting to gain a qualification in their own language.
